A close relationship can ensure that you are paying the minimum of bank charges having a flexible overdraft, so you only pay for it when you need it, and raising funds as and when you need them.

There are many ways to ensure this relationship is a good and profitable one. Your FD should be “friends” with your bank manager and cultivate a symbiotic relationship with them.
